Hello, beautiful brides!!

The reality is that vintage remains a global trend. I believe it's a way for us to revisit an era when everything was more sentimental, less technological, and when we lived in the present, savoring every minute to the fullest. There's a nostalgia and elegance that automatically comes with times gone by, which is why our focus still embraces this look. In the following, we will explore the top 10 secrets for capturing the perfect vintage vibe!

01 - Go for gold

Gold has long been associated with elegance; historically, it featured in various aspects of decor, from ink to embellishments, and even in photo finishes, lending a vintage charm.

Think about integrating it into table decor, invitations, or the vintage furniture you employ.

02- Use Calligraphy.

Nothing adds a more personal touch to a wedding than calligraphy. Choose your color preferences, script style, envelopes, and you're ready! Today, we're delving into the world of eco-friendly calligraphy and lettering. Opt for plant-based inks and use recycled paper. I recommend seeking inspiration on platforms like Pinterest to find a style that resonates with you. To pick a script style, explore the following pages:

03 - Borrow a Vintage Car:

Picture the stunning wedding photos you could have by departing in a car from the 40s or 50s.

Many couples opt for this because the photos come out incredible!

You might also think about taking engagement photos with the car.

Some popular options include the 1946 Chevrolet and Dodge, or the 1957 Chevy Bel Air Coupe or Sedan. A Cadillac from the 50s or 60s, or the 1967 Camaro, are also fantastic choices.

Search for vintage car rentals in your area to explore the available options.

04 - Heirloom Jewelry, Brooches, and Wildflower Bouquet:

Heirloom jewelry is more than gorgeous necklaces, bracelets, and rings. It’s generational jewelry that has moved from one family member to the next, holding sentimental and value. Check your grandmother's closet for luck or explore vintage shops. Always accompany it with white or colorful stone brooches, and a wildflower bouquet is a must. Check this page for inspiration!

If, like me, you didn't find a single bracelet in your grandmother's closet (or she hid them so you wouldn't lose them), there are good options on the market. Check the links below for options:

05 - Get a professional Wedding Photographer / Videographer

Selecting the right photographer and videographer for your wedding is essential in creating that timeless, vintage atmosphere.

Aim for a "filmy look," whether shot on a digital camera or film. Their style should mirror the classic aesthetics of old photos – think more moodiness, added grain, and fewer posed shots. (I'm already thrilled about it!!)

06 - Choose the right venue

This is probably the most important step for your vintage wedding.

Always opt for a venue with rich historic architecture or an old house converted into a venue. Preferably, it should have an outdoor area that is photogenic and where you can accentuate your settings.

A European destination villa is guaranteed to be the best option. Nothing screams old-money aesthetic more than Europe, but many times you don't have to cross the sea to get the look. Look for venues in your area that are "European-inspired."

Soon, I will be writing about the best ones in my opinion in the Florida area.

07 - Table set up: Mix old and new!

Table setup is one of the most enjoyable parts of the organization. The best approach is often to mix old heirloom items and new plates, chargers, and napkins.

The trick is to blend textures, colors, and choose the most vintage options. As I mentioned in top 1, the safe bet is to go for the gold color and incorporate it into your utensils, plates, or centerpieces.

If you want to go full vintage, select vintage linens to complement the look.

08- Have a Champagne Tower

Weddings always mean lots and lots of champagne. The pop of the bottle and the bubbles are sought after for celebrations.

There's nothing more fun than a champagne tower.

First and foremost, it's a crucial part of the decoration and creates a playful atmosphere between the groom and the bride, making the photos more spontaneous and less posed.

Second, it brings all the guests together in the same activity, leading to a toast.

We, as photographers and videographers, always recommend them since they tend to be some of people's favorite photos and help the couples "break the ice" to achieve some incredible shots.

09 - All in the Details

Flowers, flowers, and more flowers. Look for different types and colors and place them throughout the venue! Search vintage shops for old items like a classic gramophone, vintage photobooth, old suitcases and trunks, vintage furniture, old-style cameras (yes, please), cake toppers such as roses, lace and mini bunting, mirror signs, and a typewriter.

10 - Mix old and new

The vintage items are from eras of past decades or at least reminiscent of the style of the time. The focus is mainly on the years between 1920 and 1960.

A good technique, as the title suggests, is to combine the old with the minimalism of this era. The result? Different textures, and a timeless aesthetic.
